HumAra is an initiative by Hum, a social enterprise, to set up an ecosystem that espouses trust between employers and workers who work at the base of the social economic pyramid. It does this using propriety technology which is based on the Aadhar Card platform.
HumAra will build an online reputation management system which will help workers build a portable reputation and help employers in the due diligence on workers they hire. It would help employers in storing government issued ids like UID, driving license, election card besides current photograph etc. The incentive for an employer would be the ability to red-flag an employee who has left after an inappropriate conduct thereby ensuring that the employee is effectively deterred from getting another job. They could also make them available for reference check on ex-employees. The incentive for good workers is that it gives them a portable reputation which they can use to garner a wage differentiator amongst other things. As the trust improves, inefficiencies reduce and overall productivity and working conditions improve.
